Easy way of playing the F Major Guitar Chord

The F major chord guitar players tend to learn first is this ‘’shortened’’ version.

For this one, you have to bar (bar = barre) your index finger across the bottom 2 strings on the 1st fret. Add your middle finger to the 2nd fret of the 3rd string. Finally, you should add your ring finger on the 3rd fret of the 4th string.


When playing the F guitar chord, your picking hand should strum across all 6 strings.
